Birthday Girl
Lily had another successful birthday party. She doesn't officially turn 6 until Wednesday but she had her party today. Over a dozen kids showed up so it was a madhouse. The activity was a animal tracking scavenger hunt that dad organized. The kids swarmed across the lawn hunting down the tracks and gathering the clues.
Lily blew out the candles on her birthday ring and then we pigged out on cake. The cake was a big hit. It had a big icing tiger on top and was a delectable chocolate with white butter cream frosting. The kids loved it and the adults were very impressed with the cake. FYI -- Larson's Bakery in Vancouver.
After some more mayhem, Lily opened her gifts. They were all well appreciated and she liked them all. The present opening process was rather amusing. It started out fairly civilized with the kids sitting in a rough semi-circle around Lily while
she opened gifts. But by the end, all the kids were standing up and crowding in and getting rowdy. Lily managed to get out unscathed though. And two hours after it started, it was all over. Another successful birthday party.
